Find your purpose at CentraCare as a Interpreter for our patients who speak Somalian! As the Interpreter you'll provide language services to patients with limited English proficiency with a majority of your time in the Birth Center. You'll facilitate communication between patients and medical staff, ensuring the delivery of quality medical care to all members of our community. This role also involves providing technical and clerical support. 

Schedule:

• Part-time | 32-40 hours every two weeks | Majority of the time in the Birthing Center
• Every Saturday and Sunday | 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required 
• successfully pass English/Somali language Medical Terminology exam prior to hire.
• 1 years at a minimum of experience in a medical setting required.
• Previous medical interpreting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required. 
• Good typing and computer skills required. 
• Registered in the State of MN as an interpreter required within 90 Days
• Successful completion of oral proficiency testing in English and Somali language through the American Council on Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) with a score of 3.5 /Advanced-Mid Level required.
