Role Overview:

The OOS Team works with facilities across the US to process their Out of State Medicaid claims. We focus on hospital billing and follow up, hospital and physician enrollment, as well as eligibility verifications.

Team members within Business Support Services will learn about and train on many different aspects of the Out of State Medicaid Process. All team members are assigned tasks based on company need and location requirements. This team functions as the front line of the company and provides tremendous value to not only our clients, but our internal teams as well. As such, members of this team may be asked to assist in entry level tasks within other NHI Division teams. Assigned tasks must be completed on a daily basis to ensure other departments within the NHI Division are able to complete their work as necessary. By nature, there is a substantial amount of cross-training within this team to ensure efficient work flows and ample coverage.

This team is staffed 7 days a week (on varying schedules) and team members may be asked to provide support on weekends as needed. This requirement is unique to the Business Support Team since daily job functions include patient eligibility verification for Hospitals and direct client contact.

Key Responsibilities:

A Senior Clerical Assistant may be tasked with one of the following responsibilities - determined by experience, skill set and company needs:

* Incoming Claim Data Entry (requires UB-04 and 1500 experience) to prepare account for Billing Team

* Verifying Patient OOS Medicaid Eligibility - Client Level and Biller Support

* Hospital System Access: Review hospital system for insurance cards or additional information pertaining to eligibility

* Process Self Pay Scrub Files submitted by participating clients

* Incoming Outbound Phone Call Support

* Payor Follow Up: Authorization, Member ID Timely filing requirements

* Web Support: Account creation and granting appropriate access; Also included client support and troubleshooting

* Client Specific Projects

* Retro Eligibility Project

* Train new hires within Business Support

* Audit new hires training within the EV Queue

* QC Team: Assist Business Support Supervisor in auditing accounts to ensure accuracy among team and that policies/procedures are met.

* Need knowledge of payor portals

* Understanding of claim processing and what is required.

This is a high demand role that requires daily interaction and communication with our clients. Communication may be written or verbal. Individuals in this role must exhibit a high level of professionalism.

Required Knowledge:

* Microsoft Office

* Internet (Safari, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome)

* UB04 & 1500 Claim familiarity

Minimum of one year experience in Clerical Assistant role or work experience equivalent Verifying insurance benefit information (Does not have to be strictly OOS Medicaid)
