Cellanome Job Board is Hiring a Senior Supply Chain Planner Near Palo Alto, CA

Reporting to the Senior Director Supply Chain, the Senior Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for demand planning, supply planning, production scheduling, and global distribution, including management of the Sales & Operations Planning process. This role will provide support with purchasing and logistics-related tasks as required

Essential Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, R&D, operations, and finance, to gather demand forecasts and develop production plans.
  • Utilize best practice tools and techniques to generate accurate demand forecasts and monitor trends.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules, ensuring alignment with demand forecasts, inventory targets, and capacity constraints.
  • Monitor inventory levels and production performance, managing changes, identifying potential risks and opportunities to optimize inventory levels while meeting customer demand.
  • Plan and execute global distribution of materials and products.
  • Work closely with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components.
  • Support R&D with planning for new product introductions, including setup, testing, and accuracy of MRP.
  • Lead the global business process for Sales and Operations Planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of supply chain processes.
  • Analyze and report on key performance metrics, such as forecast accuracy, inventory turns, production variances, and sales order fulfillment, to track performance and drive informed decision-making.
  • Accountable for timely delivery of products to customers, new product introduction deliverables, and excess/obsolete inventory.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with team members, cross functional teams, and suppliers.
  • Assist with purchasing, logistics, warehousing, and material handling as required.
  • Ability to work in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel at times.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum 8 years of planning and global supply chain management, preferably in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of demand forecasting methodologies, inventory management principles, and supply chain best practices. 
  • Proficiency ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Netsuite) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and influence decision-making.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Working knowledge of GMP, FDA regulations, and biotech industry standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $112,000 - $170,000/year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
