The Sr. Process Engineer, Technology Steward will lead the continuous improvement efforts for the Celanese Emulsions site in Enoree, SC. Working with a diverse team of engineers and technicians, they will identify and execute projects to improve on the four core principles of Stewardship, Quality, Reliability and Engagement. They will drive operational excellence for the site through debottlenecking, implementing new technologies, and improving systems and ways of working. Responsibilities:
  • Engages with the production facility to identify and remove barriers inhibiting flawless production.
  • Assists operations to drive improvement in manufacturing efficiencies by utilizing continuous improvement techniques.
  • Identifies projects to improve productivity, eliminate lost production time, improve process safety, and improve environmental sustainability.
  • Conducts feasibility studies and designs improvements to capacity, efficiency, process safety and environmental controls. Formulates design basis, prepares process design specifications, and evaluates costs and benefits.
  • Tracks, measures and reports progress on improvement activities related to the unit technology plan and key business goals.
  • Coach, mentor, and work with employees at all levels throughout the site to achieve operational excellence.
Qualifications:
  • BS in an Engineering Discipline; preferably chemical or mechanical
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience with preference for chemical manufacturing
  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills; certifications such as Six Sigma a plus
  • Ability to build strong relationships and plan/align with the team.
  • Strong verbal/written communication.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office; SAP and OSI PI experience a plus
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects/tasks/programs.
  • Shows highest levels of ownership and initiative.
