Description Crain Communications, a leading B2B media company, is seeking a dynamic, experienced UI/UX Designer to deliver an outstanding user experience across our digital platforms. This position will be responsible for the intuitive application of exceptional design across Crain’s award-winning portfolio of brands including Ad Age, Automotive News, Modern Healthcare, Crain’s New York, Chicago, Detroit and Cleveland, and Pensions & Investments. Reporting to the Design Director within the Corporate Marketing team, the ideal candidate intersects design with strategy and technology to craft digital experiences that meaningfully connect our customer to our products and content. You are interested in exploring how our customers consume and behave, and skilled at designing experiences and interfaces that respond to their needs. The UI/UX Designer will work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment, partnering with Marketing, Digital Experience, Product and Technology to deliver design solutions that enhance customer satisfaction by improving accessibility and usability, while ensuring the end-to-end journey meets desired outcomes. Responsibilities: Understand our customer’s needs and behaviors, translating them into visual experiences across our products and platforms that exceed their expectations Collaborate across internal and external teams, (Marketing, Digital Experience, Engineering, Operations, Agencies) to drive up standards of design solutions; connect regularly to identify and prioritize creative needs Contribute to user experience design activities such as UX research and user testing; integrate outcomes into design work Guide the implementation of UX research methods and tests, translate into UI updates Continuously optimize applications in response to data findings, in partnership with key stakeholders. Design and test UI elements, such as search boxes, navigation menus, CTA buttons, widgets, product features, page layouts and page flows for the company’s digital assets Management and ownership of design system and component library for each brand Stay up to date with UI/UX trends and propose new ideas or share insights with the team Adhere to visual design and typography standards with specific emphasis on how they apply to web and mobile environments Basic Qualifications: Online portfolio that includes recent and relevant examples of your work Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Graphic Design, or related field 3-5 years of demonstrated experience creating and implementing UX design work in a professional environment Proficient in Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design programs Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs Understanding of user-centered design principles, traditional design principles, UX and interactive design trends and how to adapt creative across platforms and devices Highly responsive, proactive self-starter with ability to work independently or in team settings Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to manage tight, concurrent deadlines Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience creating storyboards and site mapping Understanding of responsive design and a focus on mobile first design Preferences: Landing page design Working knowledge of HTML, CSS Mobile application experience This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay. Pay Transparency Disclosure: The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000 to $115,000. The final salary offering will take into account a wide range of factors, including experience, accomplishments and location. The salary range provided should not be considered as a salary limit or cap.
