We are currently seeking a proven professional to work on various projects within our Transportation Market. The Senior Project Engineer/Traffic Engineer will have demonstrated leadership and technical experience in the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and municipal projects.

Our Senior Project Engineer/Traffic Engineer will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of project types and for a variety of clients. Projects will include safety planning and design, roundabouts, corridor studies, and plans, design of traffic signals and advanced ITS systems, and many others.

This position offers hands-on training in the hot field of intelligent transportation systems and smart city infrastructure.

Desired Skills and Experience

• 7 years’ experience as a Traffic Engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, required
• Ohio PE License is required. P.T.O.E. preferred.
• Road Safety Professional is a plus.
• MicroStation/Geopak/OpenRoads and/or AutoCad/Civil 3D.
• Other design-related software such as SignCad and AutoTurn.
• HCS, Synchro/Simtraffic, VISSIM, TransModeler, SIDRA, Rodel.
• Travel demand modeling is a plus.
• Basic or advanced GIS capabilities desired.
• Knowledge of MUTCD policies and procedures.
• Must have strong communication skills and be team-oriented.
• Applicant must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and proof of insurance.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Provide traffic engineering design for a variety of LPA, DOT, and private clients.
• Produce and review traffic impact studies, safety studies, and traffic forecasting.
• Establishes guidelines for cost estimates. Reviews and approves estimates prepared by others.
• May function as Project Manager - demonstrating strong team, communication, and organization abilities.
• Frequently functions as a subject matter expert.
• Assure project understanding, approach, and technology fully address client, regulatory, and best practices technical issues.
• Independently develop projects. May be assigned as subject matter expert.
