Job DescriptionASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER – GENERAL CONSTRUCTIONBast Hatfield Construction is a full service self-performing general contractor completing approximately $80 to $100 million annually in commercial and public works projects primarily in the capital district region of NYS but also in other states in the northeast. We have over 150 field and office employees. We are seeking a reliable and highly motivated individual for a full-time permanent position as an Assistant Project Manager at our Clifton Park, NY office. Bast Hatfield has been named a Top Work Place by the Times Union for 8 years.
ResponsibilitiesAssist project managers in the overall planning and management of projects including project setup in Procore, material and subcontractor buyout, writing subcontract and purchase order scopes of work, reviewing and processing submittals, drafting and processing RFI’s, developing and updating of project schedules, attending weekly on-site project meetings, reviewing and processing change order requests, updating project budgets and profit forecasting, and completing project billing and closeout. Our goal is to promote assistant project managers to project managers as quickly as their aptitude allows starting them off with smaller scale projects.
We believe we offer a unique opportunity in this regard with the wide range of projects we do ranging from $100,000 or less up to $30 Million.Requirements:

- Bachelor of Science of Engineering degree (preferably civil engineering) or 4-year construction management degree.
- Candidates must be interested in pursuing a career in construction project management.
- Prefer minimum of 2 years work experience within the construction industry during internship or summer work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of industry related computer programs such as Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Project for project scheduling, etc.
- Experience with estimating software, onscreen takeoff, or AutoCAD a plus but not required.
- Salary to be determined based on experience and qualifications.
