Department Of Defense is Hiring an Information Technology Specialist (Network) with Security Clearance Near Arlington, VA

Duties * You will serve as the MITSC Subject Matter Expert for non-secure internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET) and Secret Internet Protocol Route Network (SIPRNET) * You will sit as a senior member of the regional Change and Configuration Management providing a full range of change management and network engineering services for the region. * You will work with engineering personnel to ensure the change review board efficiently and effectively facilitates configuration changes on the network in a controlled and scheduled manner. * You will ensure the network monitoring tools are up to date and collecting the appropriate statistics to ensure SLA compliance, trouble notification, and problem avoidance. * You will ensure stakeholders at all levels are aware of all planned changes. * You will prepare documentation and conduct briefings focused on helping customers understand and deal with changes in service delivery, software, hardware, network access, and electronic mail. * You will review and exercise network backup/recovery and Continuity of Operation Program (COOP) programs. * You will provide oral and written reports, findings, and project status to management. * You will analyze network requirement to support security-related business processes. * You will develop local standards and policy to govern IT Change Management IAW with USMC published standards. * You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level 3 certification within 6 months of employment. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. * This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. * You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license. * MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance. Qualifications You must have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. GS-12: In addition to the experience demonstrating the four competencies above your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following: 1) Identifying, analyzing, and resolving a variety of system problems and conditions associated with change management in relation servers, personal computers, network equipment, and various program of record platforms (POR); 2) Reviewing and approving all types of system wide changes, preparing reports, and briefing senior management on scheduled or unscheduled configuration changes; 3) Ensuring all configuration changes to the network or supported systems are properly tested, mapped, documented, routed and approved prior to execution; 4) Providing training to customers on change management initiatives, upgrades, policies, processes, and procedures; 5) Developing and drafting policy for change management; and 6) Installing, testing, maintaining and upgrading network operating systems software and IOS based on new technology or industry trends.
