Description: Are you are dedicated professional with a keen eye for detail, discretion, a service focus with a background in the credit union or banking industry? We are seeking a dynamic Financial Services Representative to serve as a Loan Officer for our growing credit union team!
The Senior Financial Services Representative/Loan Officer establishes and strengthens member relationships by providing information on all credit union products and services, with a focus on identifying and acting on cross-sales and referral lending opportunities. This role leads by example in promoting and participating in a sales and service culture which endorses our mission.

Manages the necessary paperwork to open and handle a full range of consumer banking products and services in accordance with established procedures including but not limited to consumer loans, home equity loans, checking, savings, certificates of deposit, atm and debit cards, online banking, mobile banking, mobile deposit. Accurately explains products and services and supports the sales process.Originates, processes and funds consumer loans, including home equity loans, up to individual limit. Calculates debt-to-income ratios and how much debt is secured or unsecured. Evaluates credit reports, recommends loan products and terms, determines collateral needs and payment plans for loan applicants.Participates in periodic loan review to monitor for compliance with all applicable consumer protection laws and regulations as it pertains to retail credit origination. Meets compliance requirements in all areas, up to and including compliance with disclosure requirements and loan review compliance.Analyzes member's financial needs and ask leading questions to effectively create qualified referrals and recommendations to business partners.Opens new memberships and accurately process routine member account transactions including, but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, account transfers, wire transfers, official checks, and gift cards as well as perform file maintenance and account changes as needed.Manages lien cards to ensure liens are filed on new loans in a timely manner and when loans are paid off, liens are released.Models the credit union's established service standards, striving to handle each encounter in a seamless manner to ensure a positive experience for the member, including asking for their business on every cross-sell opportunity. Provide excellent member service when answering questions and resolving issues in person, online, by email, or via telephone. Research member accounts, as necessary or requested.Maintains a Notary appointment from the State of Minnesota to witness signatures as needed for members.Regular attendance with the ability to work assigned hours as needed.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSTo perform successfully as a Senior Financial Representative/Loan Officer, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. As Catholic United sells financial products and services to Catholic members, while you do not have to be Catholic, you must be generally aware of and comfortable with the religious practices and organization of the Roman Catholic Church.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and OTHERBachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years of progressive growth in a credit union or financial services environment OR a comparable combination of 5 years education, training, and/or experience.At least 5 years of consumer lending experience which includes home equity loans and lines of credit.Experience in a credit union is preferred.Experience working with the full Microsoft product suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook.Experience working with CU Answers banking software is preferred.Excellent customer service and cross-selling skills.Demonstrated ability to manage and execute complex projects in many different stages and work with ambiguity.OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIESSelf-starter and works independently managing multiple cross-functional teams, business processes and/or projects in tandem.Must have strong ability to collaborate, build, and maintain strong relationships with Team Members across all functions.Strong analytical decision-making with attention to detail, with influence, and communication skills.Commitment to positive team dynamics, client satisfaction, and creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment.Action oriented with the ability to think and respond quickly to change.Willingness to continuously learn and be open to feedback to improve individual performance.Demonstrated ability to drive change / process improvement.Effective ability to communicate using clear and concise oral and written communication and presentation skills.
