The Licensed Mental Health Counselor is a member of an interdisciplinary team responsible for assessment, treatment planning and the provision of direct services to Behavioral Healthcare Services patients utilizing a variety of clinical social work treatment techniques and modalities. Adheres to Mercy Medical Center/department policies and procedures and JCAHO/regulatory agency requirements. Demonstrates and promotes service excellence at all times.
Job Details: Responsibilities:
Demonstrate consistent ability to perform clinical social work skills necessary in the care & treatment of mental health/substance abuse outpatients
Conduct comprehensive assessments, individual, family, group therapy & crisis intervention as per patient's treatment plan
Initiate follow-up and outreach on all canceled and no show appointments and inactive cases
Maintain or exceed patient care departmental productivity standards. Actively manages daily schedule and promptly engages newly assigned patients
Complete acceptable psychosocial assessments, patient consent forms, patient education assessment and discharge summaries as per departmental requirements
Participate in educational programs, in-service meetings, workshops, conferences and committees. Keeps abreast of current literature and professional trends
Qualifications:
Masters or Doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling from a school which meets the standards of the NYS Dept. of Education, Office of the Professions.
Active LMHC registered in NYS Prior experience with mentally and /or chemically dependent population required
Prior experience with provision of verbal therapies and/or clinical social work treatment preferred
Administer substance abuse testing based on program scope of service
