Job Details

Our Central Sterile Technician will:

  • Be responsible for decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of reusable instrumentation and equipment according to established department policies and procedures.
  • Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment from various surgical and clinical hospital areas for decontamination.
  • Examine instruments and patient care equipment for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality.
  • Identify malfunctioning items, records related information, and promptly notify supervisor or biomedical engineer.
  • Communicate with perioperative staff regarding related instrument needs.
  • Transport sterile supplies to assigned surgical and clinical locations.
  • Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory levels.
  • Perform required duties to maintain a contaminant-free work environment.
  • Document and maintain records of daily activities according to department policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to AORN, AAMI and Joint Commission standards (e.g. biological, chemical and mechanical monitoring) in the performance of duties.

What you'll bring:

  • Prior experience processing surgical instruments/Central Sterile experience preferred
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required
  • Certification: CRCST required
    • Will consider candidates without certification, however, certification must be completed within 1 year of employment
Salary Range
USD $27.81 - USD $30.50 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
