Position Title: Evening Meal Coordinator and Pantry Facilitator
Location: St. Patrick Church, 3606 Bridge Ave., Cleveland, OH 44113
Organization: Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Diocese of Cleveland
Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week
- Hot Meal Service: Tuesday and Thursday, 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM (flexibility with starting time)
- Pantry Service: Every Wednesday, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Position Overview:
The Evening Meal Coordinator and Pantry Facilitator will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the evening meal program and pantry operations at St. Pat's Church in Ohio City. This role requires a dedicated individual with strong organizational skills, physical stamina, and the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish. The coordinator will ensure the efficient and smooth running of the meal and pantry services, contributing to the Society's mission of providing essential support to the community.
- Evening Meal Coordination:
o Ensure a welcoming and respectful environment for all guests.
o Coordinate with volunteers to ensure adequate staffing and efficient service.
o Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas.
o Manage food safety and hygiene standards.
- Pantry Facilitation:
o Ensure pantry shelves are stocked and organized.
o Oversee the distribution of pantry items to clients, ensuring equitable access to resources.
o Maintain records of pantry inventory and client interactions.
- Inventory and Reporting:
o Order food and supplies from the Greater Cleveland Food Bank (we will train).
o Complete and submit monthly pantry reports in a timely manner (we will train).
o Pack bags and organize inventory during non-pantry weeks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks requiring physical mobility.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish (preferred).
- Experience in food service, pantry operations, or a related field is a plus.
- Commitment to the mission and values of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
