Catalyst Consulting Group is Hiring a Senior Project Manager Near Chicago, IL

Catalyst Consulting Group is a fast-growing IT consultancy in Chicago that has been servicing public sector clients for 30 years. We’re looking for a talented, inventive, passionate, and driven Senior Project Manager with an entrepreneur mind-set to lead large-scale technology-based implementations and ensure they are delivered on time, within budget and meets the high standards that we hold ourselves accountable for.

Key Activities

  • Create MS Project plan to keep the team and stakeholders informed and on track
  • Review and comment on project requirements and design documentation
  • Conduct standups and weekly meetings with key stakeholders
  • Be heavily involved in the QA process to assist with test plan creation, drive execution and validate the results
  • Assist with data analysis using MS Excel connected to various data bases and assist with validating data between various exchanges (or similar tools)
  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

Required Skills/Abilities

  • 5 years of Technical Project Management Experience inclusive of leading/overseeing the implementation of technical solutions
  • PMP / PRINCE II certification a plus
  • CSM / PSM certification a plus
  • Salesforce Experience and/or Certifications a plus
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence a plus
  • Great educational background, preferably in the fields of computer science or engineering for technical project managers
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Proven working experience as a project administrator in the information technology sector
  • Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Experience working as a consultant in the public sector a plus
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including MS Project
