Quality Control Technician

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Control Technician to join our Sand and Gravel Division.

Carver Companies has quarry locations in Schoharie, Johnstown, Coeymans, Ashland, and Halfmoon NY.

Job Responsibilities:

• Travel to the above location to collect samples from various quarry locations and transport them to the lab for testing.
• Conduct thorough inspections of stone products to ensure compliance with quality assurance guidelines.
• Implement and maintain quality control processes to guarantee the highest standards in production.
• Grade materials in accordance with New York State DOT Specifications, ensuring precision and accuracy.
• Engage with Operations and Sales teams to understand and communicate specific client requirements.
• Work closely with Foreman and Plant personnel to ensure materials align with project specifications.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to enhance production processes.
• Assist in picking up and delivering parts as needed to facilitate smooth operations.
• Willingness to work flexible hours based on operational needs.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; additional relevant certifications a plus.
• Prior experience working in Stone Quarries.
• Experience in Quality Control within a similar industry.
• Ability to perform tasks that involve lifting, carrying, and working in an outdoor environment.

Skills:

• Familiarity with MSHA Standards
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in quality assessments.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
• Familiarity with New York State DOT specifications.
