Advanced ETB: Moving Image Studio

The School of Art at Carnegie Mellon University seeks an adjunct instructor to teach "Advanced ETB: Moving Image Studio", an upper division studio/seminar in which students create self-directed moving image projects. The course will explore research driven and experimental strategies and techniques that may include (but are not limited to): narrative, essay, installation, performance, animation, activism, visual music, abstraction, and audio-visual systems, according to the instructor's strengths and creative practice. Qualified educators for this course will be expected to provide instruction in the practice, history, and theory of moving image production. Technical workshops and demos will be conducted according to student interests and may include: live audio-visual systems, editing theory and practice, lighting, cinematography, sound for picture, color grading, motion tracking and compositing (including node-based).

We encourage applications from members of groups that have been marginalized or underrepresented in art and higher education and who will contribute to the breadth of our program.
