Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Check first piece to ensure correctness and conformance to specifications.
  • Conduct random audits of production and record any non-conformances found.
  • Perform / assist in sorting / rework of product including purchased components as needed.
  • Record any variance from specifications. Take follow-up action to ensure corrective actions.
  • Inform Area Production Supervisor if product is out of specification and when processes are not being followed.
  • Lead / assist root cause & corrective action identification.
  • Report unresolved quality problems to Quality Manager.
  • Perform measurement on tooling as required.
  • Inspect incoming material for compliance with specifications.
  • Interpret engineering drawing and sketches.
  • Check chemical process results and report out of specification conditions.
  • Calibrate and control all inspection gauges and other inspection test equipment.
  • Fill out proper documentation if product is out of specification.
  • Review and document customer return issues, enter findings into the appropriate quality system documentation . Analyze customer returns to validate the claim as well assist in root cause analysis
  • Conduct process audits to verify process stability.
  • Perform other such duties as may be required.

Required Experience and Education

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications. Microsoft Excel experience preferred
  • Knowledge of, quality specifications and measuring equipment

Desired Experience and Education

  • Previous quality auditing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Training and experience in quality and/or auditing functions.

  • Willingness to work any shift. Able to work overtime hours as required
  • Self-starter; ability to take care of the details.
  • Team player who can take direction.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing; prepare clear, concise and accurate documentation, reports of work performed and other written materials.
  • Must keep skills current to meet continuing applications development assignments.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective customer focused working relationships with managers, customers, vendors, consultants, employees and others encountered in the course of work.
