ScionHealth is recruiting for an Assistant Vice President, Health Information Management Operations to join our team! Remote candidates will be considered for this role.

Summary

The Assistant Vice President of Health Information Management Operations is a key member of the Health Information Management Leadership Team and is responsible for the establishment of an overall strategy, growth, and customer satisfaction of HIM Operations. The successful candidate will design, implement, and ensure compliant processes, procedures, and policies for consistency across the organization and for customers utilizing the system(s).

Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for development and design of overall HIM Operations including Transcription, Medical Records Processing, Deficiency Analysis, and Data Integrity.
  • Interprets policies and procedures, recommends changes as appropriate and provides feedback on such.
  • Responsible for developing and reporting operational goals, objectives, and planned budgets on an annual basis.
  • Responsible for the oversight and management of the RAC processes and activities and provides updates and reports to corporate and hospitals.
  • Works with release of information vendor and their leadership team to establish best practices and ensures customer expectations are met.
  • Oversees the Cancer Registry functions that support hospitals and clinics.
  • Provider oversight and direction in determining access to CareLink across the enterprise.
  • Establishes and maintains key customer relationships through regular interaction including presenting of relevant performance metrics.
  • Responsible for the management and oversight of the facility HIM departments.
  • Advances the HIM operational strategies including integrating and implementing related best practices.
  • Participates in development, design, and evaluation of the electronic health information system.
  • Regularly conducts detailed reviews of company HIM Operations, including overhead control, proposals, and team performance. Makes decisions, as appropriate, on establishing cost limits, customer briefings, etc.
  • For key employees, reviews and approves new hires, promotions, salary increases and awards of incentive compensation.
  • Champions teamwork, innovation and process improvement throughout the departments and provides the team with appropriate leadership, mentoring, guidance, and advocacy to ensure its long-term success.
  • Works closely with all functioning departments on maximizing customer service and identifying transition and expansion opportunities.
  • Participates and provides feedback in acquisition discussions to include evaluation of new opportunities, development of operating models, implementation of due diligence processes, and integration management.
  • Promotes the Company's values.
  • Performs other job-related duties as may be assigned or required. Approximate percentage of time required to travel: 50%
Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management with ten or more years healthcare services and technology experience.

Experience

  • Proven track record of designing and leading HIM Operations and must be well-versed in medical record compliance.
  • Must have experience in both acute and non-acute care settings.
  • Experience leading and growing teams, budgeting, establishing, and maintaining customer relationships, driving results and working with organizations across the enterprise.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and problem analysis and resolution at both strategic and tactical levels.
  • Excellent presentation, follow-up and negotiation skills are required, along with experience managing a remote workforce.

Skills Needed

  • Technology proficiency to include MS Office Suite and knowledge of McKesson, Epic and Nuance Emon & Dragon Medical One services preferred.
