Job Summary
This position is under the direction of the Provost; promotes the leadership culture within the BA campus and supports the University mission, goals, and outcomes toward growth and development of an organizational team approach of faculty and staff in serving students and community members. Responsible for the coordination, and support of the NSU Broken Arrow campus by overseeing campus operations, selected student services, programs, and activities. Supports the growth and quality of student success, customer care, campus diversity, and community outreach.
Major Duties
Coordinates operations in conjunction with Provost and/or appropriate Vice Presidents.
Serve as the NSU-BA campus liaison for Provost and additional Cabinet members. Coordinates services with appropriate vice presidents.
Maintains an understanding of university programs, policies, and procedures and applies this knowledge in the support of students, faculty, and staff progress and development.
Establishes a “one-stop shop” student services center.
Create, support, and maintain a collegial environment that supports the institution’s brand and image.
Works collaboratively with Deans and Directors with staff and responsibilities on the BA campus such as Financial Aid, Admissions & Recruitment, Career Services, Facilities, Bursar, IT, HawkReach, TRIO grants, Campus Police, Disability Services, Auxiliary Services, and Student Engagement. Ensure all involved are on the same page on BA campus needs and services these 1-1 will occur bi-monthly, minimally. Once a semester this position will also meet with each of the VPs. Ensure all are working collaboratively to plan and coordinate campus operational functions and responsibilities.
Coordinates the use of meeting spaces, lounges, and community areas in each of the campus buildings in cooperation with appropriate institutional representatives.
Participates and supports institutional activities and offsite functions when needed and advised.
Ensures compliance and support with university policies, procedures, practices, and philosophies.
Develops and provides operational reports to the Provost and appropriate senior/executive leadership.
Build relationships with professional employers in the greater Tulsa Metro Area to determine needs for new or updated academic programs.
Serve as a member of the Broken Arrow Chamber and other appropriate civic organizations.
Represent NSU on behalf of the President or Provost to Broken Arrow and the greater Tulsa area when called upon.
Facilitates collaborative agreements with Tulsa Community College and other education entities in Broken Arrow’s service area.
Work with other areas to maintain a clean, safe, and secure campus environment that is welcoming and hospitable.
Work with staff to create a plan to operate Student Services from 8 am to 7 pm, Monday through Thursday and 8 am to 5 pm Friday.
Collaborate with University Relations on any campus wide communications, including newsletters.
Inform VP of University Relations of all media contacts and questions and if any elected officials or distinguished guests will be on campus.
Provides timely and accurate weather and road condition information for both the campus and local area to the Cabinet as part of the Inclement Weather Procedures. In most instances, this requires the individual to drive to the campus for inspection.
Other duties as outlined in the Director of BA Operations and Community Relations job description and as communicated by the Provost’s directives.
Ability to maintain regular attendance.

Complexity/Scope Of Work
This work consists of varied management, leadership duties. The variety of tasks to be managed contributes to the complexity of the position.
The purpose of this position is to direct operations and community relations functions for the Broken Arrow campus. Success in this position contributes to the effective recruitment, enrollment, and retention of students.
Coordinates operations with the Provost and/or appropriate Vice President.
Supervisory And Management Responsibility
This position has direct supervision, in partnership with area directors, AVPs, and VP, of Broken Arrow staff. This includes: (1), Academic Advisor (3), Career Counselor (1), selected student services programs and activities and department administrative support personnel.
Minimum Qualifications
A master’s degree in one of the academic areas represented at NSU.
Five year’s progressive experience in higher education administration at an appropriate level and with increasing responsibility.
Supervisory and collaborative experience in a multi-faceted organizational structure.
Experience with government or community relations.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with student, academic, and facilities support services.
Director level experience within academic or student affairs.
A terminal degree.
Annual salary $88,632.00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave time.
