Data System Engineer

We are partnering with our client in Financial Services Technology in its search for a remote Data System Engineer for a 6-month contract. The individual in this role will develop data management platforms to support investment portfolio analytics and processes for migrating, processing and analyzing data from their legacy infrastructure to a new platform.

Responsibilities:

• Create a new data system made of cloud services that will be the backbone of the organization’s needs
• Collaborate with the team to review legacy infrastructure and legacy data integration, and create resulting next generation applications for the new platform.
• Facilitate greenfield development of the new platform by determining organizational needs, coordinating stakeholders, and utilizing best practices to optimize the overall database architecture
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of how data is used by various systems and how it supports internal processes
• Serve as informational resource and point of contact for data management
• Devise and implement strategies to maximize data quality, completeness, and accuracy

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience preferred
• 3-5 years of experience with C#, T-SQL, Agile/Scrum, React or equivalent JavaScript framework, and Cloud Technologies (Azure or AWS)
• Experience in Financial Services or FinTech preferred
• 2-5 years of web application development, data integrating applications development, Windows services, and service-oriented architecture
• Service oriented architecture
• Investment Management domain knowledge preferred
• Strong communication skills; able to explain technical concepts to others with varying levels of technical knowledge
• Excellent organizational skills and time management
• Ability to balance various responsibilities and meet tight deadlines
