    Salary: Pay for this position is determined by the 195-day AP Schedule and based on education and administrative experience. Starting salary range $66,000-$92,885

    Purpose of the Job: The Career & Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator assists the CCHS principal and CTE teachers in administering, monitoring, and implementing the requirements for a quality CTE and dual enrollment program, all associated grant requirements, and end of year reporting of participation numbers and CTE related costs. The CTE coordinator provides leadership and support for the staff and collaborates with administrators, instructional staff, and community members in assuring that appropriate CTE curriculum and instructional practices are occurring in all classrooms. The CTE coordinator meets with CTE teachers individually and in small groups, with local, regional and statewide members of the public involved in CTE, and professional learning communities to support implementation of CTE program requirements.
    Minimum Requirements:
    Education: Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree in Education Leadership or other related field is preferred
    Experience: Knowledge of Career Technical Education programs and associated grants; Such qualifications as the Superintendent may require
    Licenses/Certificates: Must hold a valid Colorado Teaching License and a Colorado CTE Director’s License, Colorado Driver’s License required. Principal license is preferred. Must hold the authorized designation for evaluation training as provided through Colorado Department of Education
    QUALIFICATIONS:

    The CTE Coordinator is held to high expectations for their performance to ensure success of the individual and the District in serving students and the community. The CTE Coordinator is held to the District’s Licensed Personnel Performance Evaluation System that consists of the State’s Quality Standards, elements, and performance indicators which point to fulfillment of the Coordinator’s responsibility. The CTE Coordinator’s demonstrated effectiveness is based on the following standards:
    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Assists with and promotes high quality curriculum and instruction aligned with the Colorado Academic Standards including, but limited to, developing and marketing the CTE pathways, and CTE related concurrent enrollment programs.
    • Assists in hiring and supervising CTE teaching and support staff.
    • Collaborates on budget development for CTE operations.
    • Writes, implements, and administers the Federal Perkins grant and reports all yearly data for the Career and Technical Act reimbursements in collaboration with the finance department of Canon City School District.
    • Provides information as needed to the United States and Colorado Department of Education and Colorado Community College System.
    • Serves as a member of the Canon City High School administrative team and provides support and assistance to the other members of the team as needed.
    • Assists in providing pupils with high quality career exploration and guidance.
    • Provides for system alignment, coherence, and articulation, including ongoing and structural regional or local partnerships with postsecondary education institutions, documented through formal written agreements.
    • Works with post-secondary education institutions to provide dual-enrollment opportunities for high school students and coordinates the P-TECH program at Canon City High School.
    • Forms ongoing and structural industry and labor partnerships, documented through formal written agreements and through participation on advisory committees
    • Collaborates and supports the PaICE Coordinator with opportunities for pupils to participate in after school, extended day, and out-of-school internships, competitions, and other work-based learning opportunities as part of the Work Based Learning for each approved CTE program.
    • Reflects regional or local labor market demands and focuses on current or emerging high-skill, high- wage, or high-demand occupation.
    • Works to create, and identify and update, industry recognized credentials, certificates, and appropriate post-secondary education, or employment pathways.
    • Responsible for all CCS middle school CTE grant management and teacher credentialing
    • Assists with recruiting and retaining a skilled staff and assists with professional development opportunities for those teachers and faculty.
    • Works with the business office on the expenditure reporting requirements of all career technical program grants, including Carl D. Perkins Career Technical Education grant, and the Colorado Career and Technical Act fund. Manage disbursement of CTA Perkins grant funds, Career Development Incentive Program (CDIP), other CTE related budgets, as well as reporting requirements for the P-TECH program.
    • Reports data, as a program participation requirement to allow for an evaluation of the program. Create plans to meet the data reporting requirements outlined as part of the grant criteria including the following: The number of pupils completing high school. The number of pupils completing CTE coursework. The number of pupils obtaining an industry-recognized credential, certificate, license, or other measure of technical skill attainment. The number of former pupils employed and the types of businesses in which they are employed. The number of former pupils enrolled in a postsecondary educational institution, a state apprenticeship, or another form of job training.
    • Promotes the district’s CTE and P-TECH programs through outreach, marketing, and communications and serves as a representative on the Multi-district Initiative Board.
    • Collaborates with state CCCS and statewide CTE colleagues.
    • Works with CTE teachers in forming, maintaining, and growing advisory groups.
    • Participates in or leads meetings, workshops and seminars with CTE employees new to the district.
    • Assists staff in providing the best possible learning environment for all students.
    • Collaborates with others (e.g. teachers, counselors, administrators, students, parents, other district personnel, community organizations, etc.) for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and/or programs.
    • Maintains a variety of detailed records in a variety of written and electronic formats.
    • Must be able to meet and interact with employees and parents/guardians in routine situations, which require tact, discretion, and courtesy.
    • Other related duties as assigned.
    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • CTE Instructional staff
    • Oversight of the CCHS Innovation Lab activities (Tiger Paws Marketing). The workforce in the lab will be provided by student interns supervised by this position.
    • Responsible for all CCS middle school CTE grant management and teacher credentialing
