Job Description:
This position is a non-supervisory position at the Center for Advanced Microstructures and Devices (CAMD) at LSU. The CAMD Research Facilities Specialist assists the Facility Manager in executing building maintenance and policies for the CAMD facility.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains buildings including air and gas systems, alarm systems, control systems, radiation interlock system (RIS) management and basic mechanical installations. Designated cleanrooms. Basic building maintenance. Assist coordinating with University Facility Services when work is needed on larger building systems including the HVAC system, electrical feeders, and building code issues. (35%)
- Grounds maintenance- mow lawn, spray for weeds, paint when and where needed, power wash buildings as needed. (20%)
- Maintain maintenance database. Responsible for AutoCAD work as necessary for facility management particularly in the area of radiation and vacuum interlock systems. (20%)
- Provide access cards to new users. Assist in maintenance of the facility access database. Assist in annual equipment inventory. Assist in annual equipment inventory. (10%)
- Assist radiation safety officer (RSO) in Linac, Ring and Beamline interlock tests every quarter. Place radiation badges around the facility and grounds. Perform weekly injection and stored beam radiation surveys. Maintain radiation survey instruments and get calibrated at the campus Radiation Safety Office. Issue radiation badges in the absence of CAMD RSO. (10%)
- Other duties as assigned. (5%)
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or 4 years related experience. Valid driver's license required.

Additional Information:
May be required to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Must meet the University's minimum qualifications to operate a motor vehicle while conducting LSU business.
