Purpose Statement:

The Assistant Director of IT plays a vital role in furthering the mission of Calvary Christian Academy and under the general direction of the Director of IT, assists with the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and activities related to instructional and information technology. Programs and activities include the use of technology to improve staff productivity and student learning, the use of technology to maintain data and meet reporting requirements, coordination of purchase, installation, repair, and use of electronic equipment, software, computers, and peripherals, coordination of staff training to optimize technology use and development. Assists with developing and implementing a school-wide technology plan. Your passion and your efforts assist in fostering Christian spiritual growth in the students and will directly impact Calvary Christian Academy to achieve its religious mission to "make disciples" for Christ.

Specific Responsibilities:

* Helps coordinate the school's information management system and other technology-based services.

* Supports the Christian policies, plans, and procedures creating an effective, safe, efficient and effective operation.

* Assists with providing the leadership and direction needed to improve administrative operations through more effective use of technology forecasts needs and requirements.

* Provides leadership to teaching staff in the best use of technology to support student learning and to ensure they further the mission of CCA and help students grow in their knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

* Helps supervise, train, assist, and guide the CCA technology team.

* Helps monitor the CCA Technology team workflow.

* Helps develop, implement and oversee the CCA Technology Plan.

* Initiates innovative applications of information technology throughout CCA through consultation and collaboration.

* Helps support the use of technology for all CCA departments and allocates available resources to align with priorities that furthers the mission of Calvary Christian Academy.

* Keeps current on new technologies.

* Evaluate the operations and activities related to technology including school-wide network, the purchase, leasing, installation, repair, and use of electronic equipment, software, and computer peripherals.

* Assist with the design, development, implementation, directing, review, and evaluation of school-wide technology planning including instructional and administrative applications.

* Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals.

* Help with the planning, implementation, and support of all current CCA campuses and potential future campuses.

* Conduct regular technology training and in-service sessions for staff when needed.

* Work collaboratively with others to support Technology Plan objectives.

* Expected to perform other tasks, duties, and training as dictated by your supervisors that may or may not be specifically included in this job description.

* A Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or an equivalent program of study with 5 years of relevant work experience

* Ability to discern user requirements and develop solutions.

* Experience with managing Student Information Systems, Learning Management Systems, and other software solutions specific to the school environment.

* Familiarity with student privacy standards and regulations.

* Familiarity with information security vulnerabilities and risk management.

* Familiarity with consumer privacy and payments industry compliance requirements.

* You may have to bend, sit or stand for prolonged periods of time, lift, pull, push and/or move up to 45 lbs.

Work Schedule:

Full-time (40 hours/week); however, incumbent may be required to work an evening or weekend day to help with a special event or project or in an emergency situation affecting school operations.
