Calm Source is Hiring a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) Near Danville, VA

Calm Source LLC is seeking qualified mental health professionals (QMHP A, C, or T) to provide services on a part-time to full-time basis to clients. Duties will include:
Mental Health Skill Building (QMHP-A & C) MUST HAVE QMHP CERTIFICATE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR EMPLOYMENT
Mental Health Skill Building (QMHP-A)
Intensive In-Home (QMHP-C)
Crisis Stabilization (QMHP A/C)
  • Managing a small caseload of clients (adults or children), providing MHSB, IIH, or Crisis Services on a routine basis, and utilizing short-term, solution-focused, non-clinical treatment and assistance strategies.
  • Preparing written individualized service plans (ISPs), incorporating input from clients and other involved service providers, that clearly identifies problem areas, needs, strategies, and service objectives
  • Responding to client's crisis situations, as necessary
  • Documenting client activities and interventions for both clinical and billing purposes
  • Preparing daily progress reports as required by the agency.
  • Works with Clinical Supervisor to increase the effectiveness of therapeutic and non-clinical interventions
  • With guidance from the Clinical Supervisor, prepares service request authorization for the continuation of services or written discharge summary and plans for each client.
  • Link clients with external programs or services, such as health and social services, financial resources, employment resources, transportation resources, and others as needed
  • Attends periodic supervisory and organizational meetings
Minimum Education and Experience
A social worker with a Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, sociology, or related human service field from an accredited college or university with one year clinical or related experience providing direct services to individuals with a diagnosis of mental illness; or an Associates Degree in a related field and at least one year of experience providing direct services to individuals with a mental health diagnosis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of principles and techniques of counseling; knowledge of principles and techniques of basic interviewing and assessment skills; working knowledge of human services system, roles of human services personnel, and relevant community resources; ability to maintain effective working relationships with other social services providers, service purchasers, and clients; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and statutes
  • Manages a caseload of clients
  • Providing services on an intensive basis in the home
  • Prepares services based on written diagnostic assessment
  • Facilitate meetings to enlist existing support in determining and meeting service objectives and to identify additional resources and supports
  • Prepares written service plan, incorporating input from clients, involved service providers, and wraparound team members
  • Provides direct clinical services to clients, including individual, family, and wrap-around
  • Responds to crisis situations with twenty-four hours a day availability
  • Documents case activities for both clinical and billing purposes
  • Prepares progress reports as required (including per session progress notes, quarterly progress reports, and updated treatment plans)
  • Collaborates and coordinates with other case involved service providers and professionals, such as attorneys, school personnel, social workers, and probation counselors
  • Links clients with external programs or services, such as health services, recreational activities, child care services, financial resources, employment resources
  • Attends court hearings when families are court-involved and presents testimony and treatment recommendations as requested by attorneys, referral source, the court, or clients
  • Any other job-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Special Education, Nursing, Pharmacy, or any Human Services related field approved by DBHDS from an accredited college or university; Must have experience working with troubled children and families. The preferred candidate will be licensed to provide clinical services by the State of Virginia. First Aid and CPR certified. The person hired will be required to be certified in TPI.
