Job/Department Summary:

As part of the Project and Change Management team (PCMO), the Portfolio Change Coordinator/Business Analyst (PCC/BA) will independently coordinate, plan, support, and schedule the Division of IT (DoIT) projects. The incumbent will implement the project intake cycle from beginning to end, applying industry-accepted methodologies and lessons learned from past experience to facilitate project request success. The PCC/BA will collaborate with PCMO team members to standardize DoIT project intake procedures and communicate these procedures to stakeholders to help improve technology project management and request consistency.

The PCC/BA is responsible for analysis and definition of DoIT project requests while fostering positive collaboration between DoIT and university business units. The PCC/BA will apply business analysis techniques to define business problems, gather requirements, and facilitate appropriate DoIT department involvement. The PCC/BA will work with business partners to clearly define the problem statement and confirm the scope of project requests.

The PCC/BA will also work with the PCMO and other DoIT teams to implement maturing project management policies and procedures. The incumbent will develop a thorough understanding of DoIT services and how they each support projects. The PCC/BA is responsible for the organization and staging of the project backlog, monitoring resource and capacity limits, and developing project reports/dashboards. In addition, the incumbent will provide technical and administrative support for the PCMO and the DoIT leadership team, as needed.

The PCC/BA must demonstrate professionalism in all situations and have the ability to excel in a high functioning and successful teams. Additionally, incumbent must promote change, be proactive, organized, and bring focus to a wide range of project tasks to achieve objectives. In the matrix-managed work environment, occasionally the PCC/BA may be invited to participate in CSU Virtual PMO meetings to enhance system-wide collaboration and knowledge sharing, and/or asked to provide change management support to additional CSU committees, steering committees, or focus groups.

Required Education and Experience:

The qualifications listed above would normally be obtained by a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems educational technology, communications or job-related field or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study.
AND
Two years of full-time job-related experience.
OR
An equivalent combination of job-related experience and education providing the requisite skills and knowledge to independently apply technical judgment to standard application systems.

Preferences:

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:

  • Bilingual.
  • Project management or change management knowledge and skills.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methods.
  • Familiarity with business process improvement tools and methods.
  • Ability to adhere to best practices for project organization, execution, status reporting and use of project management tools.

Time Base: Full-time

Pay Plan: 12/12

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $56,136 - $138,564 per year.
