SUMMARY : The Aim High Flight Academy (AHFA) provides teenagers and young adults from across the United States the opportunity to attend a three-week introductory flight program hosted by California Aeronautical University. Over 3 weeks, students will attend ground courses, earn up to 15 hours of flight time, and learn the pathways to become an aviation professional.
The Flight Camp Counselor facilitates the social, academic, and personal adjustment of Aim High students to the residence hall and University. The Flight Camp Counselor serves as a positive role model to whom Aim High students can turn for support. The Flight Camp Counselor enforces the rules and policies of Housing Services and the University. The Flight Camp Counselor acts as a liaison between Aim High students and the University administration.
The Flight Camp Counselor must uphold the philosophy and mission of the University while instilling a positive and progressive attitude in those visiting the CAU campus.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE :
Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Experience working with high school-aged populations is a plus.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES :
Ability to interact in a pleasant and professional manner with all types of people. Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, set and meet deadlines and manage unexpected situations. Strong technology skills necessary.
TRAVEL DEMANDS :
The employee must have the ability to travel to various locations as necessary. Must have a vehicle suitable for safe and secure transportation. Must have a valid driver's license and up to date vehicle insurance. Must be age 21 to comply with California’s vehicle rental requirements. Must be willing to operate a 12-passenger vehicle.
LANGUAGE SKILLS :
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business communications, financial reports, legal documents, and some government reports. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from students, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to students, top management and/or public groups.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY :
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
