Job Title: Municipal Trash Route General Laborer
Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and dedicated individual to join our team as a Municipal Trash Route General Laborer. The primary responsibility of this position is to pick up and properly dispose of trash along designated county roads within our municipality. The ideal candidate should be physically fit, able to work independently, and committed to maintaining clean and aesthetically pleasing public spaces.
Responsibilities:
1. Trash Collection: Drive designated routes to collect trash and litter along county roads.
2. Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload collected trash into the designated disposal vehicle.
3. Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain assigned vehicles and equipment.
4. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure work environment.
5. Route Navigation: Familiarize yourself with assigned routes and follow the predetermined schedule for trash collection.
6. Communication: Report any issues or challenges encountered during the route to the supervisor in a timely manner.
7. Customer Interaction: Interact professionally with residents and other community members while performing duties.
Requirements:
1. Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
2. Valid Driver's License: Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
3. Reliability: Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential for this position.
4. Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently and efficiently without constant supervision.
5. Safety Consciousness: Prioritize safety and adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines.
6. Communication Skills: Effective verbal communication skills for interaction with team members and the public.
7. Flexibility: Willingness to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing schedules or routes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or familiarity with municipal waste management practices would be preferable but not required.
Working Conditions:
· Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, and precipitation.
· Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
· Periodic exposure to odors and conditions associated with waste management.
