Butterball, LLC is Hiring a Systems Engineer Near Remote, NC

Job Summary:

The IT Systems Engineer provides support for a variety of operational and consultative functions. This position will be participating in the design, management, implementation, monitoring and support for all aspects of our Infrastructure. Supported systems include operating systems as well as applications. The equipment may be in Butterball’s data center, a Butterball site or in the Cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation as it relates to server and network topology, equipment and configuration(s)
  • Create action plans, designs, and implement solutions consisting of but not limited to VMware Vcenter/Esxi servers, HPE SimpliVity servers, Enterprise NAS environments across 10 sites
  • Has the ability to implement and automate manual processes by using PowerShell scripting to achieve successful results that are scalable
  • Administer all virtual machines and other networking and security components in Azure and architect new solutions to be deployed in production
  • Manages Office 365 mailboxes, Teams administration, OneDrive
  • Understands SAML and SSO concepts and can take on projects that consist of implementing Single Sign on Solutions for the Enterprise including MFA methodologies
  • Manages and Maintains Active Directory operations for 2,000 users. Experience with upgrading Active Directory domain and forest schema preferred
  • Level 2 and Level 3 support for problems identified with systems and network
  • Will act as an escalation for Level 1 and Level 2 support technicians
  • Will be a mentor for other team members
  • Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and/or on-call availability as needed
  • Setup, provision, build, monitor and maintain the physical, virtualized & storage infrastructure
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Infrastructure and Applications areas
  • Implement pro-active preventative maintenance processes and procedures
  • Ensures stability through performance monitoring and tuning
  • Work within the IT Management System and contribute to its continuous improvement
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and participate in escalations within a team environment all while fully documenting steps taken during the remediation process
  • Interact with third party vendors as liaison between client and vendor
  • Manage vendor and consulting relationships to ensure service level agreements are established and met
  • Utilize superior customer service skills
  • Respond to relevant service requests received from end users
  • Provide reports and presentations on the status of supported systems as requested
  • Participate in other activities necessary to support all departments and aspects of the Butterball business
  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Broad understanding of multiple IT disciplines and technologies
  • Strong focus on customer satisfaction with proven critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to write intricate system and user documentation and troubleshoot problems in complex technical environments
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues, customers, vendors, and third parties that span across multiple technical disciplines

 Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field
  • Minimum of 3 years of IT industry experience is required.
  • Direct experience with the following is required: Windows server administration (Version 2008 or newer), VMWare/VCenter administration, Office 365, wired and wireless networking, DNS and DHCP administration, along with experience with Active Directory tools and utilities
  • Preferred experience deploying, configuring, and/or maintaining RDS or Virtual Apps
  • Familiarity with IdP/SP concepts and fundamentals of SSO/SAML authentication
  • Network, internet, cloud, endpoint, and application security experience preferred along with a level of understanding with anti-virus and anti-malware software, MS SQL administration, and deploying hyper converged architecture in a server environment
  • Microsoft certiciations, CCNA or CCNE certification, VNWare VCP certification, InfoSec/Cyber Security Certification preferred but not required
