Job Summary:

The MES Manager will have responsibility for leading, developing and efficiently operating all aspects of the site Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and other Manufacturing Systems in line with corporate guidelines & procedures. This position performs duties in line with best IT / manufacturing practices; leads and directs the work assigned to MES specialists, with a focus on continuous improvement, cross system transaction accuracy, system reliability, alignment with production processes, complete digital tracking of production processing, and 3PL transactional discipline.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:

·Lead process flow discussions and translate existing system functionality so that the MES could be understood by technical/non-technical individuals’ organization wide.

·Develop and train active subject matter experts (MES Analysts, and Specialists) to improve system utilization and provide continuous improvement opportunities.

·Manage the activities of the site MES Specialists. Support hardware and software trouble shooting.

·Lead the monitoring of applications for readiness, availability, and performance trend analysis.

·Define cycle counting requirements and manage the cycle counting efforts of the MES team.

·This resource will design, develop, and manage all multi-functional deliverables; and third-party partner commitments required to support and maintain the MES system.

·Define and maintain test scripts to validate the system functionality to insure system reliability.

·Collaborate with Butterball senior leadership to document business requirements, process flows, and new functionality to deliver the MES system that supports the corporate strategy.

·Provides and oversees training of team members who actively use inventory accuracy software on the production floor (scanners/scales), in accordance with SOPs provided to ensure inventory accuracy through defined metrics.

·Collaborate with the IT, Finance, and Operations infrastructure teams to develop, prototype, standardize and roll-out MES related infrastructure components and support the BOSS (Butterball Operating System Solutions).

·Manage projects related to MES & Manufacturing Systems upgrades, functionality implementations, etc.

·Collaborate with engineering to ensure the MES system can support any new equipment added to a production site.

·Align the MES system with the operations workflow and business requirements.

·Performs user management and system monitoring functions in MES, and other Manufacturing Systems.

·Oversee the data/process flow from third party warehouse locations, to ensure the 3PL locations support Butterball transaction integrity and adhere to our EDI specifications.

·Host 3pl onboarding meetings to deliver the Butterball expectations in terms of transaction methods around shipments, receipts, and invoicing.

·Onboarding of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) at all third-party warehouses.

·Lead analysis of MES data and leverage the information to provide direction to accomplish continuous improvement to drive cost savings.

·Provide guidance and support for any reporting necessary to support the business.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

·Candidate will have working knowledge of Windows & SQL, application servers and data center operations

·Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills and proven problem solving and root cause analysis skills

·Excellent strategic planning and project management skills with a strong focus on customer service

·Excellent verbal/written communication, interpersonal and functional team building

·Advanced skills with all MS Office Products, especially Excel and PowerPoint

Education & Experience:

·Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operation Management, Business, technical field, or 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, or management / leadership experience with a proven history leading technical and or operational personnel.

·Preferred candidates will have 3 years providing Server, Network and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) support in a manufacturing environment.

·Experience with Cat2, JDA, EDI, Power BI, and SAP are a plus
