As a Direct Support Professional, you'll provide Individualized Supported Living services, which includes providing support, training, and oversight to clients in their own home and/or in the community. You may also be required to provide personal assistance, independent skill development, and community integration services as defined by the Department of Mental Health.

Key Responsibilities:
Report to and work with assigned clients according to the support schedule
Read and know the content of the current Individual Support Plan for each client
Provide support as specified in the personal plan, which may include accompaniment, performing personal hygiene tasks, etc.
Provide training to clients in areas such as personal hygiene, money management, safety, household skills, etc.
Document progress or lack of progress on goals and objectives
Complete detailed Residential daily notes and obtain receipts for client purchases
Implement emergency and safety drills with clients
Complete required reports and maintain relevant certifications
Attend meetings and specialized training as directed
Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED
One year experience in the field of intellectual/developmental disabilities or successful completion of approved training
Additional Qualifications:
Ability to interact and work with people effectively
Good verbal and written communication skills
Punctuality and excellent attendance
Good computer skills
Knowledge of the field of service provision
Reliable means of communication and transportation
Skills to read, understand, and write clearly
