Audubon Companies is Hiring a Senior Expeditor Near Houston, TX

External Description
Audubon is currently seeking a Senior Expeditor to join our team in our Houston, Texas Office. The Senior Expeditor. will expedite assigned projects to ensure on-time delivery of equipment, material and documentation and thatmilestones are being met. Works with supplier and project team to recover if schedules are not being met. Typically works on large, complex projects with a global component.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Develops or modifies the expediting plan for the assigned project(s), which is based on criticality ratings of the equipment in relationship to the project schedule.
  • Provides the interface between Suppliers and the Project Team to ensure that documentation requirements (signed PO Acknowledgements, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Production and/or Fabrication schedules, Bills of Materials and drawings) that are specified in the purchase order are delivered in accordance with the agreed schedule.
  • Monitors Supplier's delivery progress in accordance with the delivery commitment of the purchase order. Anticipates issues and proactively resolves using internal / external resources.
  • Expedites in accordance with Project Procurement Procedures and to achieve project milestones and on-time delivery of equipment.
  • Issues expediting status / tracking reports on a regular basis to the Project Team.
  • Works with Supplier and Project Team on a recovery plan if schedule is not being met.
  • Reports non-compliance cases.
  • Updates System with delivery status updates. Maintains applicable procurement files inconformance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Department Work Instructions (DWI's) and Quality System requirements.
  • Ensures the timely issue of suborders by Supplier for raw material and / or major components.
  • Reviews Inspection Reports if inspections are required by the contract to monitor progress and verify actual status.
  • Liaises with Logistics to provide advance notice of impending shipments and to trace major shipments from the supplier to the job site if necessary.
  • Liaises with Purchasing, Engineering, and QA/QC to resolve any commercial, technical, or quality problems that arise.
  • Assists with purchase order closeout and provides input to Supplier performance evaluations.
  • ACTIVITIES PERFORMED ON AN INTERMITTENT OR OCCASIONAL BASIS
  • Performs other duties as assigned. May work on special projects.
  • May provide back up for other employees.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS :
  • High school diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience in expediting and supply chain preferred.
  • Knowledge of project expediting, supply and delivery with a sound understanding of expediting and inspection functions.
  • Knowledge of global procurement, logistics and industry practices.
  • Solid understanding of economic factors affecting the business and industry cost drivers.
  • Knowledge of packing and shipping (air, ship and ground) processes, customs operations in relation to transportation of machinery and complex equipment.
  • Product knowledge of materials being purchased, what is being built and supplier base.
  • Understanding of applicable laws and regulations, the Company's Code of Business Conduct and other Company policies and procedures.
  • Directly related progressive experience with successful track record of ensuring that products and services are delivered on-time to meet business requirements.
  • Experience reading Purchase Orders, Specifications, and Data Requirements and Engineering Drawings.
  • Experience establishing effective working relationships with suppliers.
  • Ability to develop and modify effective expediting plans.
  • Exceptional persuasion, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact with suppliers and co-workers in a team-based environment.
