We're looking for:

A Rooms Division Manager will exceed the expectations of all Bunkhouse guests in a multitude of tasks that include but are not limited to management of Front Desk and Housekeeping teams and operations while ensuring indulgent service is given to Bunkhouse guests.

The person in this position must have good communication skills, the ability to resolve conflict and a thorough understanding of Bunkhouse policies. Furthermore, the Rooms Division Manager must develop and maintain the company’s culture, values, and reputation in the public eye, and with all staff, guests, vendors, and partners.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Seven (7) years related experience in hospitality or service industry
  • Front Desk and/ or Housekeeping experience required
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED). College degree preferred. 
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of co-workers and sister property staff
  • Ability to create documents in Excel and Word
  • Ability to understand Property Management Systems and other programs
  • Bilingual preferred

Job Requirements:

  • Serve as an example for staff by adhering to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos, and verbal instruction
  • Demonstrate a working understanding of labor cost control through effective scheduling and proactive management
  • Develop departmental objectives, budgets, policies, procedures, and strategies
  • Analyze operational problems, such as theft and wastage, and establish procedures to alleviate these problems
  • Implement inventory standards and procedures to consistently conduct an accurate inventory
  • Perform personnel actions such as hiring and disciplinary action, in coordination with Assistant General Manager and other managers as necessary
  • Train and supervisor Front Desk and Housekeeping staff, including holding staff accountable for performance through regular evaluations
  • Manage the guest experience to heightened cleaning and safety protocols. Promote cross-training and education between the front office and housekeeping to ensure accuracy and standards set forth by the Bunkhouse design team
  • The Rooms Division Manager will ensure and maintain proper coverage in departments to include filling in when necessary to maintain productivity levels and enhanced guest experience
  • Work closely with Human Resources to maintain awareness of documentation needed and retained in employee files
  • Ensure all guests receive indulgent service through guest name recognition, concierge services and flawless check in and out procedures, etc.
  • Oversee the VIP program and overall guest experience (GEM) and ensure team members who support this effort are trained
  • Manage and approve Front Desk and Housekeeping timecards to include data entry of departmental schedule, historical tracking, checking for accuracy to meet payroll deadlines
  • Maintain accuracy with all accounting and billing and end of month procedures
  • Process all Travel Agent commissions
  • Act as the point of contact for guest complaints and concerns in the absence of the Assistant General Manager
  • Assist Front Office as necessary, including response to overnight calls
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area and uphold housekeeping standards
  • Coordination with the Engineering team for Rooms equipment purchases and repairs to ensure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition
  • Analyze operational problems, such as theft and wastage, and establish procedures to alleviate these problems
  • Maintain open lines of communication across all departments with staff and management via email, logbooks, meetings to ensure hotel needs are met
  • Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues through the property
  • Keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements
  • Attend relevant meetings

Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.

Working Conditions/Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, typical of a hotel/restaurant/office setting
  • The person in this position may have to lift/carry up to fifty (50) pounds on a daily basis; anything over fifty (50) pounds is considered a minimum two (2) person lift
  • The person having this position may have to remain stationary for one (1) hour, move about/traverse property spaces, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for up to eight (8) hours per day
