Description
Buena Vista University has an opening for a Social Media Specialist. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring BVU's social media accounts, and building and executing social media strategy through research, benchmarking, and university goals. In addition, this position gathers, drafts, edits, and publishes content on BVU's main social media accounts to build meaningful connections with key audiences, build brand presence by capturing and analyzing identified metrics and best practices, and basing content on such insights. Collaborate with key university departments on campus and assist them with social media strategy and execution while upholding and incorporating university brand standards throughout.
A Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related discipline is preferred, and 1-2 years of experience in planning, gathering, drafting, and publishing content on various platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong attention to detail are necessary skills in the role as well as experience in Adobe Suite, Canva, and/or other graphic design programs, and the ability to edit content in photo, graphic, or video form. Strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and pivot based on priorities are desired in addition to the ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines.
