BronxCare Health System is Hiring a Wound Care Clinical Res. Mgr Near Bronx, NY

Overview:

Carries out patient care responsibilities with emphasis on decision-making related to the steps in the nursing process to include assessment, diagnosis, and identification of expected outcomes, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides competent, safe and compassionate care based on established Bronx Care Health System (BCHS) and Nursing Standards. Coordinates treatments to provide comprehensive wound assessments and plan of care including goals, implementation of treatment, evaluation and outcomes for patients throughout the organization. Provides patient, family and staff education regarding wound management, prevention of pressure ulcers, support surfaces, dressing selections and other therapies. Is a resource person for physicians team and clinical staff. Coordinates care and education for patients with wounds.

Responsibilities:

Ability to perform wound assessment, reassessment and management for all patients and per policy. This includes neonate, pediatric, geriatrics, and the general population.Knowledge of the anatomy, physiology, and disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary and dermal system.Utilizes principles of the current wound management theory when providing care to patients with acute and chronic wounds.Demonstrates knowledge and skill to develop and implement policies and procedures to manage patients with draining wounds, fistulae and/or tubes; wound prevention, wound care, ostomy care and incontinence.Demonstrates the ability to perform treatment and provide services to level of licensure.Attends seminars, conferences, continuing education classes in the areas of wound prevention, wound management and ostomies. Participates in professional societies.Provides routine care that promotes optimal outcomes for the patient with an acute or chronic wound.

Stays current with changes, new advances/treatment.Demonstrates the ability to effectively present information, and respond to questions from providers, managers, staff, patients, caregivers and the public.Identifies patients at risk for developing pressure injury and/or wound complications.Demonstrates the ability to effectively present information, and respond to questions from providers, managers, staff, patients, caregivers and the public.Identifies clinical practice gaps and formulates plan to bridge the gaps.

Qualifications:
  • All RNs; graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Experienced RNs; progressive clinical experience in specialty
  • Wound and Ostomy certification required within one year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • New York RN Licensure Current Registration
