The Community Education Manager, in conjunction with the unit's Program Director, is responsible for the planning and implementation of a comprehensive community education program. He/she coordinates the referral development/sales process, develops and maintains accurate community education information and account management systems, as well as coordinating the unit's internal and external communications program. This is a full-time position (36 hours per week) and hours of work and days are subject to the needs of the Program which operates on a 24 hour; seven days a week basis. This position may have contact with patients who have moderate to severe psychiatric concerns and/or behavioral issues. There is the possibility this position could be exposed to violent behavior from patients and/or behavioral issues as part of their daily duties. Works in partnership with community-based providers, hospital administrative staff, clinical staff and Unit leadership to develop and implement programs that promote Unit behavioral health programs within designated area/communities Administers the management information system. Evaluates data collected and utilizes reports to plan referral development and community education activities and to determine the success of these efforts. Maintains a thorough understanding of the services provided by the program, admission criteria and patient characteristics and effectively communicates this Responds to all requests for general information about the unit's treatment program and provides information about appropriate topics -in response to common requests. Informs Leadership of any adverse publicity information to current and potential referral sources including medical staff and hospital clinical department manage Coordinates and implements a focused account management system Develops, Maintains, and continually updates a comprehensive, categorized mailing list Maintains a historical record of unit activities including news clips, photographs, and public relations in portfolio Monitors all admissions, inquiries and discharges and enters data into the approved EMR Promotes and facilitates community relations opportunities within the designated area Represents Program leadership at client and community functions Works with health centers, community-based organizations, insurers and community coalitions to develop programs, events and new initiatives that promote marketing and Unit program objectives Works with the Program Director to develop marketing plans for the program Coordinates the referral source surveys in compliance with company standards Disseminates pertinent finding/data to referral sources as needed Attends all Program, Hospital, provider and staff meetings as required Provides ongoing assessment and assessment of referral source satisfaction. All other duties as assigned Qualifications Education: Bachelors degree in related field Experience: One to three years of experience in hospital or psychiatric setting Knowledge, skills, and abilities required a. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point b. Excellent interpersonal, telephone, written, and customer relations skills c.
