JOB DESCRIPTION- MEDICAL INSURANCE COLLECTION SPECIALIST

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Comprehensive Medical Solutions, LLC and New Health MD are in search of professional, responsible, enthusiastic, and focused Medical Insurance Collection Specialist that is responsible for following up with patients and insurance companies to ensure timely payments for medical bills. They must be skilled in communicating with patients and insurance companies to resolve disputes and negotiate payment plans. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Contact patients with unpaid medical bills and negotiate payment plans or settlements.

· Work with insurance companies to resolve disputes and facilitate payments.

· Maintain records of all patient interactions and payments received.

· Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid bills.

· Work closely with insurance companies to ensure proper billing procedures.

· Manage patient accounts and ensure timely payments.

· Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

· Identify and resolve billing errors and discrepancies.

· Contact patients to follow up on overdue payments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· High school diploma or equivalent

· At least one year of experience in medical billing and collections

· Knowledge of medical billing codes and procedures

SKILLS

· Strong communication and negotiation skills

· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and medical billing software

· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

ABILITIES

· Ability to analyze and interpret insurance policies and medical records.

· Capability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

· Demonstrate professional behavior and ethics in the workplace.

QUALIFICATIONS

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Some college coursework in healthcare, accounting, or finance preferred.

· Previous experience working in a medical billing or collections role preferred.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed in an office environment. Involves frequent contact with the public. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS Work requires hand dexterity for office machine operation, stooping and bending to files and supplies, mobility to complete errands, or sitting for extended periods of time. Must possess visual and auditory acuity to communicate with co-workers, patients and other customer groups. Possible exposure to chemical hazards. Must be able to lift up-to 25 lbs.
