Summary: Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director for DD Day Services, the occupational therapist will evaluate occupational therapy needs of each individual and assist in the development and the implementation of appropriate therapy/programming .
Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (30 hours, can be flexible to be lower)
The Occupational Therapist position is typically a 40 hour position and works at all 4 day program sites. They are responsible for OT assessments, writing goals and objectives, assessing member's dining (they are responsible for the assessment from plate to mouth. SLP assesses once the food is in the person's mouth), etc.
Contract assignment that can begin as early as 3/4/2024 and end 9/2/2024
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Required Education/Experience:
The occupational therapist should be a registered member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), must be currently licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Allied Health Professions and must have one year of relevant work experience. Some experience with a geriatric/Alzheimer's population preferred.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Knowledge and understanding of principles of normalization, behavior management and human rights.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to climb stairs. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The employee must be able to drive a vehicle, must have a normal range of eyesight with or without corrective lenses, and have a normal range of hearing with or without corrective equipment.
