Summary: The Family Services Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination of family and recovery services, for maintaining the overall security of the residence, for ensuring the well-being of residents, and for supporting staff in the development and delivery of services for the families being served by Lotus House.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM (40 hours)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Develop family and child care and support plans, based on assessed needs and family goals.
  2. Conduct and Update individual/family needs assessment with each family's participation to develop an individualized service plan for the appropriate family involved, noting needed, desired, and requested services and resources.
  3. Develop, implement, promote, facilitate, and document weekly groups for clients, utilizing internal and community-based resources to meet the diverse needs of the client population.
  4. Maintain an up-to-date print and web-based list of family services-related resources, including information about local educational/social community events, access to schools, transportation, and childcare resources.
  5. Assist with the oversight of family activities and intake, assessment, and orientation of new residents.
  6. Plan, organize, and lead regular outings and field trips for residents and their children to educational and recreational events.
  7. Coordinate events and activities onsite for program participants to encourage stability and individual/family goal attainment.
  8. Build and maintain positive relationships with outside providers, community groups, families, and other service providers.
  9. Maintain the upkeep of the indoor and outdoor play spaces.
  10. Assist with daily office and administrative functions.
  11. Assuming responsibility for the program in the absence of the Program Manager
  12. Respond to emergencies according to agency and program policies and protocols.
  13. Provide coverage to individuals as needed.
  14. Participate in after-hours on-call rotation.
  15. Maintain core training certifications including being trained on the supportive housing model.
  16. Knowledgeable in the areas of; Supportive Housing, Addiction, Trauma Informed Care, and Medication Management
  17. Other duties as assigned

Required Education/Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  2. Individual and group counseling experience required
  3. Minimum of five years experience working with people who suffer from the Disease of Addiction or psychiatric disabilities, three years supervisory/administrative capacity.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  1. Excellent verbal and written skills, as well as presentation skills.
  2. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  3. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage staff.
  4. Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships.
  5. Demonstrated computer proficiency.
  6. Ability to maintain records accurately and thoroughly
  7. Capable of responding to crisis
  8. Have the ability to recognize client body language and gestured cues.
  9. Have the ability to hear and differentiate tone, modulations, and escalation of voice, to identify and monitor escalated behaviors, and to maintain a safe environment.
  10. Ability to communicate with emergency services (i.e. Ambulance, fire, and police).
  11. Valid driver's license in the state of residence
