The Opportunity
Working in close collaboration with our VP of Accounting, you will guide and mentor our growing accounting team to meet the evolving needs of WillowTree. Over the last several years, we have seen considerable growth in headcount and business, so the opportunities and challenges we face in accounting will require a thoughtful and poised leader to help us navigate these uncharted waters. To play your part in this, you will be responsible for all of our accounting activities to ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to define and establish our accounting policies and procedures to impact the future of accounting at WillowTree for years to come.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all non-revenue accounting activities ensuring compliance with GAAP/IFRS and internal accounting policies and procedures
  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to, indirect taxes, AP, payroll and general ledger
  • Oversee the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, inter-company, and other balance sheet and P&L accounts
  • Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
  • Prepare, review and issue financial statements in accordance with US GAAP/IFRS
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls and processes to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, SOX compliance, integrity of corporate data, and best practices
  • Manage accounting policies and procedures and lead efforts on process improvements
  • Help with the year-end financial audit activities
  • Prepare and manage benefit plan audit process annually
  • Research and resolve accounting issues including evaluation and implementation of new accounting pronouncements to ensure US GAAP/IFRS compliance.
  • Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training and maintaining strong employee relationships
  • Drive process improvement at all levels of the organization
  • Support internal operational and compliance programs
  • Support ad hoc reporting for annual budgeting and planning process
Qualifications
  • 5 years progressive experience in general accounting, ideally 4 years in public accounting
  • At least two years of leadership/supervisory experience with a track record of leading a successful team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting emphasis OR a CPA
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting
  • Ability to work independently without considerable oversight, and to act decisively
  • Strong proficiency with accounting software (Workday preferred) and advanced excel skills. Also experience with payroll software (UKG, Ceridian preferred).
  • Experience in designing and implementing accounting processes and controls
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to engage various disciplines and stakeholders in an organization
