This position is for work to be performed in the 4-state area (MO/KS/OK/AR) and beyond, according to the needs of Branco.

HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

Heavy Equipment Operator operates equipment such as back-hoes, track-hoes, bulldozers, mini excavators, skid steers, or track loaders to lift, move or place equipment or materials. They also inspect, clean, lubricate and fuel equipment prior to beginning their shift or as additionally required. They work closely with other equipment operators and ground crew in the preparation and construction of civil or commercial building sites. Operators use sound judgment to safeguard life and property while in control of their equipment. Many operators work with several types of equipment while some choose to specialize in just one or more.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Clear construction areas of debris and other materials, load them onto trucks for disposal and transport to appropriate locations
  • Build, level and excavate land surfaces using a variety of construction equipment
  • Perform dust control and dirt compaction by operating water tankers.
  • Take direction from supervisor for daily work tasks and provide feedback to supervisor on a daily basis.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems, make repairs as possible, and notify equipment manager of required maintenance or repairs
  • Clean heavy equipment on a daily basis.
  • Safely park and store equipment at day’s end according to established procedures

Job Requirements

  • Knowledge of safe construction work practices and procedures
  • Understand preventative and general maintenance requirements of equipment.
  • Must perform as, or assist, laborer or other craft worker when the need arises (must be willing to get out of the seat)

Required Experience

  • Heavy Equipment Operations: 2 years

Desired Additional Experience

  • Crane certification NCCCO

Required education

  • High school diploma (GED)

Required license or certification

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30

Compensation

  • Depends on Experience
