Job Description
The Clinical Communications Manager is responsible for leading communications planning and execution for large programs and portfolios of work for Envision Healthcare. The role requires a thorough understanding of the healthcare industry. The position reports to the Internal Communications Director and is a hands-on position, where success includes "rolling up your sleeves" to drive desired results. Candidates must possess strong writing and editing skills, as well as proven experience in internal communications and project management.

Responsibilities
  • In collaboration with the Internal Communications Director, you will develop, deliver, and maintain a communication strategy and approach that executes on the business goals and desired outcomes
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership to develop effective communication strategies that improve employee engagement and align messaging with our company vision
  • You will be responsible for building strong relationships with business/unit department leaders while driving and influencing those leaders to set the vision and direction of clinical communication
  • Ensure consistent messaging and branding across communication platforms and programs both internally and externally
  • Strategize big picture but execute tactically and manage the details effectively
  • Measure and analyze the use and effectiveness of communication efforts and provide recommendations for optimizing results
  • Establish proactive mechanisms for audience feedback and adjust communication strategies and content based on that input
  • Monitor and manage the most relevant topics and trends within the company that impact teammates, our culture, and our company's vision.
  • Cultivate a communication culture for the clinical service lines that promote strategic thinking using evidence-based strategies and advocacy
  • Lead and develop new communication initiatives and tools; oversee the ongoing renewal and update of the organization's SharePoint pages and other communication channels
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field
  • 5-7 years of corporate communications or public relations experience
  • Preferred knowledge and understanding of integrated healthcare
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to connect dots from plan to execution
  • Ability to succinctly convey complex messages that are professional, consistent and support company vision and brand position
  • Ability to work collaboratively across a diverse, matrixed team to ensure messaging and programs are delivered quickly, consistently, and powerfully across multiple channels and locations
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to navigate large, multi-disciplinary environments
  • Ability to create strong, strategic business relationships and solicit/act on partner feedback
  • Executive presence and the ability to coach leadership on effective strategic communication
  • Ability and flexibility in managing multiple projects at a time as well as just-in-time issues to drive the work forward
  • Proven ability to maintain confidential information appropriately and exercise good judgment
  • Proven comfort with Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and knowledge of common collaborative tools/platforms (Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
