We are looking for a Shift Maintenance Coordinator - to coordinate maintenance execution activities, lead team for daily maintenance, PM's, secondary maintenance and breakdown tasks for all production equipment at the Smelter. This coordinator position will be responsible for all shift maintenance execution activities in addition lead other special projects/activities and initiatives.
This role is a great opportunity to lead a maintenance team of craftsman and contractors in the safe execution of quality work ensuring that work management process is effectively followed. The core role responsibility is managing the safe execution of quality work, adhering work management practices, to coordinate plant wide maintenance activities in alignment with production targets. Reporting into the Manager Hot Metals your key accountabilities include:

• Provide safety leadership in the field for all off-shift maintenance activities
• Provide maintenance leadership to improve MTTR (mean time to repair) and improve production
• Improved work management health (CRI, compliance, backlog)
• Receive quality handover from prior shift maintenance teams (electrical and mechanical)
• Coach off shift supervisor to facilitate effective L1 shift start meetings
• Call Sr. Coordinators (Operations, Maintenance, Control Room) to understand and align on shift maintenance priorities
  • Is there safety critical issues that need maintenance attention
  • Are we on plan for production, or are their threats to achieving plan
• Facilitate daily maintenance prioritization meeting 06:30
• Communicate clear priorities to off shift maintenance teams
• Respond to priority maintenance calls and collaborate with operations to identify/troubleshoot problem
• Ensure maintainers have accurate work instructions (NOPs, PRTs etc.), parts are expedited as required, and correct tooling is available/utilized.
• Facilitate Off-shift turnover meeting at 14:30
• Complete and distribute quality shift notes to all AM superintendents, AM coordinators and Op's Sr. Coordinators.
• Ensure priorities are clearly communicated to shift maintenance teams.
• Initiate escalation - Follow escalation matrix protocol, send situation reports as required per matrix.
• Incidents - Follow incident reporting/Investigation procedures for any AM related issues

What you will need for this role
To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Candidates must demonstrate a safety conscious approach to work, a proven ability to operate independently and in small multi-discipline teams, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; a participative management style in problem solving, project implementation, and continuous improvement, and strong analytical and computer skills are important.
• Must become proficient in SAP and CMMS.
• Understand and effectively communicate the importance of accurate and timely work completion.
• Have the energy, commitment, interpersonal and technical skills to optimize work-execution by proper utilization of resources in an environment of teamwork and cooperation.
• Incumbent must be able to work with and utilize support, particularly from the maintenance and operations team leaders in the context of maintenance performance improvement.

It will also be beneficial if you have:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field and minimum 5 years related experience or an MS degree
• 2 years related experience in lateral role or 10 years related experience in the Industry
