Website: BVSD .Location : US:CO:BOULDERDepartment: Environmental ServicesPosition Title: Custodial CoordinatorPosition Start Date: May 6, 2024Position Type: Professional TechnicalFTE: 1.0 - 40 hours per week - Regular, ongoingWork Schedule: 261 Days - 12 MonthsSalary Range 2: $63,679 - $95,520Closing Date: May 1, 2024Summary: Responsible for supporting the district Custodial Department including planning, scheduling, and training for all custodial employees; managing district custodial operations, equipment inventory, managing sub custodian scheduling, special projects, flooring, managing departmental budgets and projects. Fill in for Custodial absences as needed. Ensure compliance with cleanliness, safety, and Health Department standards in all district buildings.Responsibilities: Plan, organize, direct and manage programs, projects and activities related to district custodial operations to ensure a clean and safe environment for students and staff, through the use of district information technology systems.Develop and implement short- and long-term goals to effectively and efficiently manage district custodial building/site needs.Develop, implement and establish standardized cleaning procedures and training for district custodial personnel.Supervise Ed Center custodians, including job performance, approval and verification of reported time in the district timekeeping system.Fill in for Custodial absences as needed.Visit and inspect District sites for proper utilization of custodial time, materials and equipment on a nightly basis.Coordinate workloads and schedule substitute (daily and long-term custodian absences) operations with site administrators; resolve issues and conflicts.Work with site administrators to coordinate custodial operation activities and provide overall technical guidance and direction to facilitate and assist sites in meeting the mission of the District.Attend meetings, professional associations, training and other functions as required. Coordinates and leads the Custodial Advisory Committee Meetings.Assist with the development of the annual department budget. Forecast and budget for short and long term departmental and capital expenditures. Monitor and authorize expenditures in accordance with district procedures.Provide technical expertise regarding district custodial operations, and develop procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, local regulations, including environmental, energy, safety, and integrated pest management standards. Implement sustainability practices in all aspects of the job responsibilities.Develop and implement a training program and schedule on standardized cleaning procedures for District custodial personnel. Understand and enforce labor agreements and departmental procedures and rules as well as understand labor laws and policies.Analyze, evaluate, and repair district custodial equipment. Collaborate with site custodians to inventory and maintain a district equipment database , forecast equipment needs, and execute a life cycle plan for custodial equipment.Develop and implement long- and short-term goals and Key Performance Indicators to effectively and efficiently manage District building/site needs related to custodial operations.Respond as essential personnel in case of an emergency, weather or environmental event, and/or school/facility/district closure on a 24/7 call basis.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications : Required:High school diploma or equivalent plus meet one of the following criteria:A minimum of two years experience as a custodian, plus one year of experience supervising employees. Specialized advanced courses in business, technical or vocational school up to two years of college.Certified training relevant to the position (certificates must be uploaded to the application),equipment operation and maintenance, chemical health and safety, and employee supervision.Must have a valid driver's licenseCompleted and submitted BVSD online application.Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English.Preferred:Knowledge in the operation, care and training of custodial cleaning equipmentMust be able to work with various groups including custodians at various levels, principals, district administrators, purchasing, vendors, etc.Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals including Google productsAbility to research different products including cleaning chemicals, gym floor finishes, hand soap, machinery, cleaning equipment, etc. Knowledge of chemical characteristics, potential hazards of, and appropriate usesExperience as a trainer/supervisorEffective verbal and written communications skills including public presentationsAbility to recognize and teach the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditionsAbility to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgroundsSalary Information: Salary Range 2:$63,679 - $95,520Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.*Pay range listed above is for employees newly hired to BVSD or current BVSD employees that are new to the employee group (existing employees currently in this unit please refer to the pay range on the appropriate salary schedule ). BVSD engages in a salary placement process vs. a salary negotiation process.
