Overview
Yard Drivers operate yard vehicles to move trailers to designated loading/unloading sites as directed.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) a plus
- Must be organized and detail oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read chemical labels and follow safe handling procedures for food grade products
- Ability to accurately record data
- Must be able to work weekends, and varying shifts (days, evenings, nights)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- May be required to work in cold, damp environments and be exposed to the outside weather
- Maintain constant mental focus and be constantly aware of surroundings
Responsibilities
- Moves trailer to designated loading docks within the Borden yard facility
- Responsible for keeping daily logs
- Spots and switches trailer as directed
- Stars trailer cooling process before loading and checks trailer temperatures and fuel Levels
- Cleans, washes, and fuels trailers, and inspects for damages
- Services switcher tractor by checking and replenishing liquid levels and draining air tanks
- Performs Driver Vehicle Inspection Report daily for each shift
- Keep Spotter vehicle clean
- Loads/unloads and sorts/stacks pallets
- Assists team in unloading empty cases, racks, and other equipment
- Assists team in keeping loading bay clean
