We offer opportunity, unique challenges, and clear-sighted commitment to the mission. We have an immediate need for a Senior Systems Engineer in our Strategic Systems Analysis Group (SSAG). SSAG provides multiple organizations within the Department of Defense with timely and objective assessments and recommendations that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis. We focus on key clients in the strategic community including Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) and the Navy staff. We work to provide integrated solutions based on information and communications throughout the chain of command to ensure clear and consistent analysis and recommendations that are aligned to strategic and leadership goals while still being executable by the working level technical communities. Responsibilities: The Senior Systems Engineer will support the development and execution of a specific program within Strategic Systems Programs' SSP's Technical Plans and Programs. The senior systems engineer will be responsible for conducting programmatic organization initiation, analysis, Navy and OSD liaison, and strategic planning for an acquisition program for Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP). They will coordinate military, government, and contractor team efforts, gather information, facilitate engagements, develop and maintain planning tools, prepare reports, presentations and whitepapers, and present results to leadership. In addition, the Senior Systems Engineer will coordinate all aspects of the technical activities and efforts for this program, including key client interactions with SSP, NAVAIR, and the NNSA. They will become familiar with client expectations, understand interdependencies, and facilitate communication across a range of stakeholders while providing program management analysis and support in the DoD acquisition, JCIDS, and Navy Gate processes. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree.
* Current DoD TOP SECRET clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret while employed with SPA.
* DoD program or project management experience or 3 years of experience with any of the following: JCIDS, Navy Gate Process, Defense Acquisition System DoD 5000 series, or DoD program planning.
* Knowledgeable of the Navy requirements process or familiarity with program office organizations and processes or Navy operational experience.
Desired Qualifications: * 6 years of experience with the defense acquisition system, program planning, strategic planning, and program execution. * Experience with Submarines and/or the Trident II (D5) Strategic Weapons System. * Current DoD SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance.
* Program/Project Management experience or 6 years of experience with JCIDS, Navy Gate Process, Defense Acquisition System DoD 5000 series and Navy or DoD program planning.
