Position Overview

The Marketing & Promotions Manager will provide project management, planning and execution of programming and sales promotions, events and contests, as well as manage our audience database platforms. This position will also serve as the primary point person for community partnerships and will supervise our team of Promotion Assistants.

This position will serve as a bridge between programming and sales to satisfy client and partner needs while protecting and promoting the brand. This position will focus on strengthening the Company’s brands in the market, increasing ratings and generating revenue for Bonneville. 

Note: Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.

  • This position is an on-site role that requires the employee to work at our Seattle site. Specific schedules will be determined based on business needs and evaluated by managers and senior management.

What You Will Do:

Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop custom segments and processes to be utilized for listener communications from audience databases
  • Plan, manage and execute station and client promotions, contests, and events that take place on-air, on-line, and/or on-site; including as necessary, set-up/tear down of equipment / materials, etc.
  • Oversee the execution of brand (KIRO/SeattleSports/KTTH/MyNorthwest) and programming promotions, events, host appearances & contests (i.e. Seahawks home broadcasts, Mariners home broadcasts, Holiday Magic, etc.).
  • Manage and lead the Promotions team; including, but are not limited to, recruiting, hiring, training and coaching
  • Oversee community partnerships, charity requests, award submissions and outreach efforts, etc.
  • Create Wide Orbit orders and manage on-air promotional inventory.
  • Work with Programming, Imaging, and Traffic as needed for promotional execution.
  • Work with the legal department in obtaining all documents necessary for promotion implementation; protect the company through strict adherence to signed agreements of all station promotions and events, serving as Legal Liaison to ensure that all corporate legal requirements are met
  • Responsible for maintaining costs within department budget.
  • Responsible for community relations and ensuring the proper outside image of all Bonneville Seattle stations, i.e., appearance of promotion staff, signage, and station presence displayed to the maximum potential using all available resources.
  • Adhere to all FCC rules as well as Bonneville regulations regarding contesting, contest rules, promotional announcement compliance with company policy.

Skills and Experience We Are Looking For:

  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Experience leading and managing a team of employees; proven delegation, problem-solving and prioritizing skills, preferred
  • Proven ability to initiate and work independently, if necessary, and operate effectively in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations
  • Able to consistently work hours required. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and evening hours, as necessary
  • Expertise in marketing technology with a strong grasp of data integration and system architecture, a plus
  • Understanding of CRM platforms and database management, a plus
  • Proficiency with computers and able to adopt and work with new technologies
  • Able to conceptualize, develop ideas and follow through to completion
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally and through the written word
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and proven ability to safely drive personal vehicle without exposing company to serious liability risks.

Physical Demands

  • Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
  • Substantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination.
  • Lift, move, and carry up to 50-100 pounds on occasion.

Compensation

$27.60 - $37.20 Hourly rate to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
