Summary

Under the supervision of the Manager, Customer Training, the Customer Training Instructor's primary purpose is to provide external and internal customers with the training needed to obtain lift truck operator certifications per OSHA/ANSI standards. In addition, the Customer Training Instructor provides "train-the-trainer" training to support customers' internal training needs.

Essential Functions

  • Partner and collaborate with external clients, subject matter experts, and internal stakeholders to design, develop and deliver training to meet customer needs (i.e., lift truck operator training certification courses).
  • Lead and support training activities in support of customer training. Collaborate to develop long-range training schedules for customers across the United States.
  • Proactively develop and revise training materials, in accordance with brand standards, to provide high-quality and effective training.
  • Independently lead activities to support training readiness and execution. Partner with customers to ensure materials, training aids, and required on-site equipment are available and properly inspected to support effective implementation of scheduled training.
  • Administer the training evaluation process. Analyze test results for knowledge and programmatic gaps. Collect trainee feedback, evaluate individual and team results, and implement changes to improve the training program.
  • Identify and propose improvement opportunities to find better, faster, and simpler ways to implement the customer training program. Support Training Department improvement initiatives.
  • Support and conduct benchmarking and industry outreach activities to remain current on developments in adult learning, instructional methodologies, and new training technologies.
  • Collaborate with the Manager, Customer Training to identify new potential external customers. Engage with clients and stakeholders to grow our customer base and continually increase customer training revenue.
  • Partner with LiftOne Sales staff to support new truck and aftermarket sales as a pipeline for new customer training clients.
  • Analyze industry and regulatory changes for training needs. Develop and revise training materials to support regulatory changes. Partner with customers to provide current and up-to-date knowledge and skills to clients.
  • Support LiftOne Technical Training, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience

  • Three years of lift truck operator experience, including forklifts and mobile elevated work platforms (i.e., boom lifts, scissors lifts).
  • Must have the ability to teach and convey technical information in a manner that promotes learning.

Preferred:

  • Five years of lift truck operator experience.
  • Three years of experience developing and teaching technical training, preferably experience teaching lift truck operator training.
  • Associate degree in a technical field.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to learn and use industry specific computer programs
  • Ability to travel 50% or more to facilities across the United States.

While performing the duties of this Job, depending on site location, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment. The employee may occasionally be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee may occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in some work environments is occasionally loud.
