Responsibilities:
- Provide psychiatric and mental health care to patients across the lifespan
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
- Diagnose and treat various mental health disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Prescribe and manage appropriate medications
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide holistic care
- Provide health coaching and education to patients and their families
- Utilize case management skills to coordinate care and resources for patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in psychiatric-mental health specialty
- Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience in dementia care is preferred
- Ability to lift and move patients when necessary
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications and their side effects
- Familiarity with utilization management principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
