Blue Origin, LLC is Hiring a Cost Accountant Near The ONeill Building (HQ), WA

As part of a hardworking team of specialists, you will be responsible for performing complex accounting functions consistent with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including performing month-end, quarterly, and annual closing activities and financial reporting duties. In addition, you will own the inventory cost accounting system module close, accruals, adjustments, reconciliations, variance explanations. You will also document accurate and timely monthly close activities, accruals and other journal entries, and inventory and expense analysis. You'll also be the subject matter expert for inventory cost accounting. You will work closely with management to design and implement approved inventory cost accounting procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP, Government Accounting Standards and federal and state tax requirements. Key to success in this role is actively driving process improvements, identify and lead projects to streamline and automate manual workflows. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with concentration in accounting 3 years of cost accounting experience to include strong understanding of financial reporting and US GAAP as well as internal controls and their relation to financial statements Strong computer skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Desired: 5 - 8 years of accounting experience CPA Working knowledge of U.S. Government contracting requirements (including FAR and CAS) Self-starter, bias for action – builder vs. maintainer Dedication to refining and improving processes and procedures Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy Excellent communication skills (comfortable presenting results to senior leadership) Costpoint experience ITAR Requirements To conform to U.S. Government commercial space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), applicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawfully admitted for permanent residence into the U.S. (i.e. current green card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. § 1157-1158.
