The Program Management Office (PMO) at Blue Meridian identifies, prioritizes, and enables the successful execution of a suite of cross-functional projects that enhance operational efficiency and strategic business goals. Projects led, supported, or monitored by the PMO are multi-dimensional and have an organization-wide impact.
Position Profile
Reporting to the Director, Program Management Office, Strategy & Operations, the Consultant will work closely with the Chief Brand and External Affairs Officer and internal Summit Planning Team, especially the Event Manager (responsible for event logistics) to act as the overall project manager for Blue Meridian's 2024 Partnership Summit event. The Partnership Summit is a highly visible multi-day event designed to bring together Blue Meridian's community of funding partners, leaders of many investee organizations, advisors, and special guests to connect and learn from each other while discussing our work and key issues in the social sector.

New York City. Hybrid work arrangement allowed.
Primary Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
  • Project Planning and Management: Develop, lead and manage a detailed project plan to track progress and manage scope during the project life cycle, ensuring the project is delivered on time and within budget.
  • Team Coordination: Collaborate with internal team members facilitate the seamless execution of this event, ensure clear ownership of tasks and responsibilities to team members and ensure all stakeholders are aligned with event goals and timelines.
  • Meeting and Decision Facilitation: Prepare for, facilitate, and follow up on Planning Team meetings to capture key decisions, ensure actions are completed, name roadblocks and meet milestones. Additionally, support agenda-setting for Steering Group meetings to facilitate decision-making aligned to the timeline.
  • Reporting: Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues as necessary, according to project work plan.
  • Onsite Coordination: Attend the Partnership Summit in person to provide real time support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth implementation.
  • Playbook Creation: Track and capture the planning processes, including key tasks, milestones, and decision-making, throughout the project to create a reusable Summit project playbook as a final deliverable.
Qualifications
Required
  • Values Alignment : Aligned with Blue Meridian's mission and core values, including a commitment to racial equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Project Management Experience : At least five years of professional working experience in project management and/or management consulting, including experience managing complex, large-scale events.
  • Results Driven : Track record of executing against agreed goals and deliverables, with the ability to take ownership and accountability, streamline process, and troubleshoot in real time.
  • Organizational Skills : Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fluid, dynamic environment by having both a very strong attention to detail and the ability to see and communicate the big picture.
  • Communications Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to craft clear and concise materials, PowerPoint decks, and clearly organized playbooks.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding interpersonal skills with a professional and accessible demeanor, and the ability to work with people with different backgrounds and experiences.
  • Technological Proficiency : Extensive knowledge of Microsoft apps (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Asana, and the ability to master new software quickly.
  • Willingness to Travel

  • Adaptability: Displays emotional intelligence, authenticity, empathy, and the ability to "flex" to relate to different audiences and situations.

Consultant Rate
The consultant rate for this position is $72 an hour.
