Summary
As a Store Manager, you will be responsible for the overall store performance, including achieving budgeted financial results, executing all operational functions, maintaining merchandising standards, maximizing inventory management, and optimizing the customer experience, while maintaining and developing staff.

Youll spend your time focusing on these priorities:
  • Customer Experience: Focusing on the appearance of the store, from maintaining a clean and safe facility to merchandising and ensuring customer service standards are met. You must be capable of stepping into any role for training purposes and assistance during peak times.
  • Inventory Management: Overseeing the receiving, selection, quality, and care of merchandise.
  • Staff Development: Performing human resource management functions including hiring, discipline, promotions, terminations, career development, and compensation, as well as ensuring efficient training and task management, and providing a safe and positive working environment.
  • Financial Performance: Monitoring and understanding of numbers for budget, revenue, margins, expenses, and net profit of the store.
  • Strategic Planning with Retail Director: Being engaged and involved by bringing your ideas and thoughts for improvements; researching, planning and executing approved plans.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of plants and horticultural care
  • 3 to 5 years of retail management experience
  • 2 to 3 years of experience working at a garden center, grower, and/or landscaping company.
  • Work outside in all weather conditions
  • Carry and lift up to 50 pounds multiple times per day
  • Push and pull up to 200 pounds (with castors)
  • Walking, talking, grasping, hearing, handling, and feeling are done continuously
  • Standing, sitting, stooping, reaching, and bending are done frequently
  • Crawling, climbing, and kneeling are done rarely
